This was worse than foolish...but criminal. Unfortunately there are supposedly several victims of this scam. Guys in the hobby for a while certainly would have or should have known this was not legitimate but new guys may not have had any clue of the fraud. In cases like this the damage is not just the transferable machineguns that will probably be destroyed by ATF or the ones destroyed to perpetuate the fraud, but also the damage to unsuspecting buyers as well as the black eye on the profession.
